Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a skilled engineer to design and evolve the Common Services Platform for secure, scalable cloud-native deployments. You will partner with Product Management to align requirements, estimate effort, and contribute to sprint planning.

You will collaborate across Go microservices, Kafka pipelines, and Kubernetes/EKS, mentoring peers and driving end-to-end delivery with a focus on reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 5+ years of production software experience.
• 5+ years cloud-native web apps and microservices experience with Golang and serverless tech.
• 3+ years with SQL(PostgreSQL) and NoSQL(DynamoDB).
• 1+ year building event-driven systems using Kafka/SQS/SNS.
• Experience using AI/ML tools to support development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and build core components of Cisco's Common Services Platform.
• Partner with Product Management to understand requirements and plan sprints.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver end-to-end functionality.
• Develop POCs to test new ideas and validate approaches.
• Mentor peers and engineering interns, sharing best practices.
