Job summary

Cisco’s Customer Experience (CX) Engineering team seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and deliver robust cloud-native software that enables customers to maximize Cisco technology investments. You will own the full lifecycle from architecture to deployment, ensuring reliability in distributed systems.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and work in a hybrid model with in-office days in RTP, NC or San Jose, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent field) and 7+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, or Master’s with 4+ years, or PhD with 1+ year.
• Backend development with Python/Go/Node.js/Java/Rust and REST/GraphQL APIs; relational or NoSQL databases; Kafka or AWS SQS/SNS.
• CI/CD workflows experience and deployment troubleshooting.
• Cloud infra and container orchestration (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker) and IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience applying AI-assisted development tools or AIOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Own full software development lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Design robust, scalable software to maximize Cisco technology value.
