Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a senior engineering leader to design and deliver core components of the Common Services Platform. You will work with product management to scope work, plan sprints, and drive end-to-end features across Go microservices, Terraform, and serverless stacks on AWS.

You will mentor peers, influence system design, and help scale high-throughput event pipelines with Kafka and SQS/SNS, while exploring AI/ML-enabled workflows within production environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years designing, developing, and deploying enterprise software in production environments.
• 5+ years developing, deploying, and managing large-scale cloud-native web applications and microservices using Golang, Terraform, and serverless technologies.
• 3+ years building event-driven systems using Kafka, SQS, or SNS for asynchronous communication.
• Experience integrating AI/ML solutions into software workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and build core components of the Common Services Platform and/or Solutions for scalable, secure cloud-native deployments.
• Partner with Product Management to understand requirements and plan sprints and quarterly goals.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver end-to-end functionality with aligned integration points.
• Develop POCs and prototypes to validate approaches and test performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural decisions for quality and timely delivery.
