Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to design and build core components of the Common Services Platform for secure, scalable cloud-native deployments.

You will collaborate across teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to end-to-end delivery. The role emphasizes Go, Terraform, serverless tech, and event-driven architectures with Kafka/SQS/SNS, plus opportunities to apply AI/ML in platform design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher with several years designing, deploying enterprise software
• 5+ years developing, deploying, and managing large-scale cloud-native web applications and microservices
• Experience with Golang, Terraform, and serverless technologies
• Experience building event-driven systems using Kafka, SQS, or SNS
• Experience integrating AI/ML solutions into software workflows

Responsibilities

• Design and build core components of the Common Services Platform and/or Solutions for scalable cloud-native deployments
• Partner with Product Management to understand requirements and contribute to sprint planning
• Collaborate across teams to deliver end-to-end functionality and ensure high-quality delivery
• Develop POCs and prototypes to explore new ideas and test performance
• Mentor junior engineers and influence system design for scalable deployments
