Job summary

KBR is seeking a Mid Software Developer to design and implement secure, end-to-end cluster and application lifecycles in cloud environments. You will work with Kubernetes or Docker, build CI/CD pipelines, and apply GitOps for automated deployments to support secure, scalable software delivery.

The role requires a Secret Security Clearance or higher and extensive experience with Kubernetes/Docker, Agile/DevSecOps, and cloud tools.

Qualifications

• Secret Security Clearance or above.
• BS in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• 10 years of progressive related experience.
• Advanced experience developing web-based applications.
• Advanced experience with Kubernetes or Docker.
• Experience with Agile, Agile XP, DevOps, and DevSecOps methodologies.
• Experience with HTML, JavaScript, Material UI, TypeScript, React.
• Experience with scripting languages Python, Bash, Powershell.
• Networking experience.
• Experience working with version control systems like Gitlab.
• Experience in software systems development using CI/CD pipelines, Gitlab CI and ArgoCD.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Passionate about automation, system efficiency, and security.
• Experience with Log Management and Analytics tools.
• Proficient in tools like AWS Cloud Services, Gitlab, Ansible, Maven, Gradle.
• Experience with Unit/Integration Testing.
• Experience with Unit Testing tools Jest, Cypress or Playwright.
• Experience with Test Driven Development.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code

Responsibilities

• Work across multiple technology stacks to support a broad range of applications.
• Develop secure, end-to-end Kubernetes or Docker-based lifecycles.
• Participate in software development using CI/CD pipelines with a focus on security and automation.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to architect containerized solutions and cloud-native applications.
• Apply GitOps principles for automated deployment processes.
• Implement DevSecOps best practices across the development lifecycle.
• Ensure effective log management and use analytics tools for monitoring.
• Develop and maintain scripts to automate security checks and deployment processes.
• Leverage AWS and other clouds for reliability, scalability, and security.
• Contribute to secure network configurations and cloud-based security architecture.
• Maintain familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps methodologies.
• Assist in implementing Service Mesh solutions (e.g., Istio).
• Collaborate with teams using GitLab and automation tools like Ansible, Maven, Gradle.
• Stay current with cloud technologies and evolving security threats.
• Maintain infrastructure using IaC/CaC
