Job summary

KBR is seeking a Mid Software Engineer to help build secure, end-to-end lifecycles in cloud environments. You will containerize with Kubernetes or Docker, implement CI/CD pipelines, and apply GitOps for automated deployments.

You will collaborate with clients and internal teams, work across Python, Java, JavaScript, and Go, and use AWS and other clouds to enhance security and scalability.

Qualifications

• Secret Clearance or above is required or candidate must be eligible for clearance.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5 years of experience developing web-based applications.
• 5 years’ experience with Kubernetes or Docker.
• Experience with Agile, DevSecOps, and CI/CD practices.
• Proficient in HTML, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and related web tech.
• Experience with scripting languages: Python, Bash, PowerShell.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and IaC/CaC concepts.
• Strong problem-solving and automation focus.
• Experience with GitLab CI, ArgoCD, and log analytics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement end-to-end cluster and app lifecycles in cloud environments.
• Design and implement containerization using Kubernetes or Docker.
• Build and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams on architectures.
• Apply DevSecOps best practices across the SDLC.
• Ensure logging, monitoring, and security analytics are in place.
• Develop automation scripts (Bash, Python, PowerShell) for tasks.
• Leverage AWS and other clouds to ensure reliability and security.
• Contribute to secure network configurations and cloud security architecture.
• Stay current with cloud tech and evolving security threats.
