Job summary

Varmoda is seeking experienced software engineers to support the Oklahoma Teachers' Retirement System modernization into a cloud-native MyPAS 3.0 platform. You will work on Angular front ends, REST APIs, Azure services, and a secure, scalable architecture across a long-term program serving 210k+ members.

Collaborating with TRS staff, analysts, and project managers, you will implement production-ready components, improve workflows, and retire the legacy ALICE system while ensuring performance,

Qualifications

• Knowledge of modern application development frameworks, programming languages, and secure coding practices.
• Knowledge of SDLC methodologies, including Agile.
• Knowledge of TRS business rules, including those specific to the Pension Software System.
• Familiarity with legacy systems architecture, dependencies, technologies, and integration points.
• Skill in performing all aspects of application development, including coding, unit testing, documentation, code reviews, and submitting pull requests for TRS staff to review.
• Skill in developing clear, actionable user stories and maintaining a prioritized backlog.

Responsibilities

• Develop APIs, system interfaces, and automation workflows.
• Deliver high-quality work output with minimal defects.
• Collaborate effectively with TRS technical staff, analysts, testers, and project managers.
• Translate technical specifications into maintainable, production-ready software.
