Job summary

We Insure in Austin, TX is seeking an IT Operations Specialist to manage cloud systems and provide frontline user support. The role splits time evenly between cloud operations and end-user assistance, with additional focus on documentation and process improvement.

The position requires 3–5 years in IT ops or related fields, strong security awareness, and hands-on cloud experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune. On-site work and a standard weekday schedule are expected.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in IT operations, cloud administration, or help desk support.
• Working knowledge of IT security principles, best practices, and tools used to protect end-user devices and cloud data.
• Hands-on experience administering and supporting cloud platforms and SaaS applications (e.g., Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, or similar).
• Comfort performing basic physical ("smart hands") tasks on network hardware, racking, cabling, swapping, or rebooting equipment without requiring network engineering or configuration expertise.
• Experience applying IT security best practices in a cloud environment.
• Experience gathering and analyzing client/user requirements and recommending practical options.
• Comfort working with centralized cloud IT system management tools.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the analytical and troubleshooting instincts to see problems through to resolution.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor cloud-hosted applications and platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Azure/SaaS).
• Configure and administer cloud-based systems and identity platforms per standards.
• Monitor cloud identity systems and performance, using management tools to catch issues.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software malfunctions to minimize downtime.
• Keep change management records up to date for all system changes.
• Support deployment, tracking, and retirement of IT hardware assets.
• Serve as on-site smart hands for network equipment under supervision of security team.
• Identify opportunities to improve cloud IT environment and flag risks.
