Job summary

The City of San José is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer in the Information Technology Department. This role focuses on administering hybrid Cloud environments (Azure), governance, and enterprise storage, with hands-on configuration, automation, and disaster recovery planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, Business and Public Administration, or related field.
• EITE I requires 3 years of progressive technical experience; EITE II requires 4 years.
• Two years of related experience may substitute for up to two years of education.
• Valid California driver’s license required.
• Industry certifications such as MCSA, CCNA/CCNP, or equivalent are required for EITE I/II.

Responsibilities

• Manage Public Cloud (Azure) governance and operations, distributed file systems (and/or FileShare), and enterprise storage.
• System management and monitoring.
• Provide service improvement through automation.
• Hands-on system configuration and advanced troubleshooting to ensure service availability and SLAs.
• Design and implement Azure cloud backup and Disaster Recovery.
• Upgrade Windows server and FileShare cluster.
• Administer and monitor server backup operations.
