Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Cupertino, CA is seeking a Cloud Hardware Development Engineer to own the full lifecycle of storage and accelerator servers from NPI to fleet operations.

You will lead design, qualification, manufacturing ramp, and deployment while partnering with ODMs and internal teams to scale products. You will drive fleet health, implement predictive diagnostics, and pursue zero-touch operations across hardware, firmware, software, and manufacturing for highly reliable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
• 3+ years of end to end product delivery experience.
• 5+ years of manufacturing or manufacturing engineering experience in server, accelerator, or high-tech hardware platforms.
• Hands-on hardware debug experience across electrical, firmware, and mechanical domains.
• Experience with SMT assembly processes and PCB fabrication/assembly for HDI boards.
• Experience driving quality and schedule execution at multinational ODMs/CMs.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (~25%).

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end NPI lifecycle for storage and/or accelerator server platforms — from architecture definition through design, qualification, manufacturing ramp, and launch.
• Lead technical solutions for complex server and rack system architectural challenges.
• Work with ODM/manufacturing partners to develop, validate, and manufacture server products at scale.
• Develop functional specifications, design verification plans, and test procedures.
• Drive qualification and readiness milestones, ensuring new platforms meet performance, reliability, and cost targets before fleet deployment.
• Identify and resolve technical risks early in the development cycle — don't let problems reach production.
