Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Cloud Hardware Development Engineer in Cupertino, CA, to own end-to-end server platforms from NPI to fleet health. You will lead cross-functional teams including ODMs to ensure scalable, reliable, and cost-effective servers in production.

You will debug complex failures across hardware, firmware, and software, push for zero-touch operations, and continuously improve performance and reliability while coordinating with manufacturing and supply chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related fields).
• 3+ years of end-to-end product delivery experience.
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in server/hardware.
• Hands-on hardware debugging across electrical, firmware, and mechanical domains.
• Experience with SMT assembly and HDI PCB fabrication.
• Experience driving quality and schedule at multinational ODMs/CMs.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (~25%).

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end NPI lifecycle for storage/accelerator servers from architecture to launch.
• Lead solutions for complex server/rack architectural challenges.
• Collaborate with ODMs/CMs to develop, validate, and manufacture at scale.
• Develop specifications, verification plans, and test procedures.
• Drive milestones to ensure readiness before fleet deployment.
• Identify and resolve technical risks early in development.
• Own fleet health and drive zero-touch operations post-launch.
• Diagnose faults via telemetry and logs to prevent customer impact.
• Decompose system problems into deliverable tasks and features.
• Collaborate across hardware, software, manufacturing, supply chain, and product teams.
