Wizards of the Coast is seeking a Senior Cloud FinOps Platform Engineer to advance cost management across our cloud foundation. You will lead cost allocation, showback, and automation to enable scalable, transparent cloud spending. Collaboration with engineering and finance will ensure cost-aware decision making and measurable savings.

The role emphasizes IaC integration, automation, and platform-level patterns to drive efficiency and predictable financial outcomes for the organization.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of cloud engineering/FinOps/platform experience.
• Experience with major cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Experience with IaC and automation tooling.
• Experience with cloud cost optimization vendors.
• Ability to translate cost data into actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Build Cost-Aware Platform Foundations: Design cost allocation standards across cloud environments.
• Embed cost insight into provisioning workflows and templates.
• Ensure cost attribution in resource creation.
• Expand Cost Visibility & Tooling: integrate cost platforms and analytics across projects.
• Build cost dashboards, alerts, budgets, and reporting pipelines.
• Embed FinOps into Platform Automation: integrate cost controls into IaC/CI/CD workflows.
• Automate detection of cost anomalies and unused resources.
• Maintain cost guardrails through policy & automation.
• Enable Cost-Aware Engineering: collaborate with engineering on cost transparency.
• Mentor engineers on cloud economics and practices.
• Improve Cost Efficiency: identify inefficiencies and drive platform improvements.
• Vendor Optimization & Commitment Management: evaluate Savings Plans and RI usage.
