Job summary

Smile Digital Health seeks a Cloud Engineer (Automation) to design, build, operate, and improve production-grade automation for the Smile platform. You will own pipelines, infrastructure as code, and recovery procedures to ensure reliable, scalable deployments across Azure.

You will collaborate with Platform Engineering, Solution Engineering, Service Operations and QA to remove repetitive work, optimize builds, and apply AI-assisted tooling to accelerate delivery and reduce costs.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on cloud engineering/DevOps experience with Azure in production.
• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• Strong Terraform, Helm and Azure DevOps pipelines experience.
• GitOps delivery experience (Argo CD or Flux).
• Kubernetes experience and AKS familiarity.
• Knowledge of Azure services (AKS, Key Vault, Storage, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL) and observability tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own build and release engineering; consolidate pipelines into reusable templates.
• Automate patching, certificate/secret rotation, environment scaling, and reporting.
• Implement GitOps-based CD with declarative deployments and drift detection.
• Automate end-to-end environments across Azure services and apps.
• Automate disaster recovery and backup validation with tested DR drills.
• Maintain Helm/Terraform configurations and upgrade paths.
