Job summary

Smile Digital Health is seeking an experienced AI/ML leader to join our health data platform team. You will act as the AI/ML SME, shaping strategy, scoping projects, and guiding architecture across our products.

You will implement AI solutions, collaborate with engineers, and help drive technical excellence in a fast-paced environment. You will write code, tests, and documentation, participate in client meetings when required, and help align AI initiatives with our roadmap and business goals.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in software architecture, full-stack development, or AI engineering.
• Experience implementing advanced AI solutions including semantic matching, RAG systems, and document parsing.
• Experience designing and deploying agentic systems using LangGraph, Crew AI, or the OpenAI Agents SDK.
• Knowledge of MCP and model ensemble methods.
• Experience with Knowledge Graph databases like Neo4j.
• Experience with Apache Databricks, Spark, and Iceberg workflows.
• Experience HITL integrations in AI workflows.
• Proficient in writing unit and integration tests and accompanying documentation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the AI/ML SME on the team.
• Document AI strategy and align with product roadmap.
• Define project scope, milestones, and solution design at kickoff.
• Implement AI/ML solutions, write code, configure components, prototype new tech.
• Write clean code, unit tests, and documentation.
• Attend client meetings as needed.
• Track priorities and deadlines; coach the team to complete tasks.
• Understand features to provide effective support.
• Lead code reviews, pair programming, and problem solving.
• Contribute to product/tech meetings on architecture and strategy.
