Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Cloud Data Engineer to join our data platform team in Illinois. The role focuses on designing scalable cloud data architectures using Snowflake and Azure and building robust ELT/ETL pipelines.

You will collaborate with data engineers, BI teams, and security to deliver reliable data solutions. Ideal candidates have 4+ years in data warehousing/cloud data engineering, strong SQL, and hands-on Snowflake/Azure experience.

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree in computer science/information systems preferred or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of enterprise data warehouse industry experience
• 2+ years of experience in cloud data engineering or cloud platform support
• 4+ years of experience with data architecture and implementing data warehouse data marts
• Understanding of cloud networking basics (VNet, private endpoints, firewall rules)
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Azure services, SQL
• CI/CD and DevOps familiarity
• Experience with 3rd party RDBMS/Oracle is a plus

Responsibilities

• Design scalable cloud data architectures using Snowflake and Azure.
• Set up Snowflake environments (warehouses, roles, resource monitors, data sharing).
• Work with Azure Data Factory, ADLS, Blob Storage, Key Vault, and AD.
• Collaborate to design and optimize ELT/ETL pipelines.
• Optimize Snowflake performance (clustering, partitioning, query tuning).
• Implement RBAC within Snowflake and Azure.
• Support data security strategies including encryption and masking.
• Monitor system performance and cost usage.
• Support cost optimization and resource scaling.
• Troubleshoot data load and performance issues.
• Document architecture designs and data flows.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, BI teams, and security teams.
• Participate in design reviews and best practices.
