Job summary

Central Health is seeking a Manager of Data Engineering to lead the design, development, and operation of data platforms powering analytics, reporting, and AI workloads. The role focuses on migrating from legacy SQL Server to a cloud-native Snowflake environment on Azure and driving data architecture improvements.

Hybrid work arrangement may apply, with collaboration across analytics, governance, finance, and clinical teams to ensure trusted data for enterprise metrics and regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, health informatics, engineering, or related field.
• 6 years in data engineering, warehousing, or analytics platform development.
• 2 years in technical and/or people leadership roles.
• 2 years migrating legacy SQL Server to cloud data platforms.
• 2 years in healthcare or regulated environments.
• 2 years with Snowflake and Azure-based architectures.
• 2 years supporting BI tools, analytics platforms, or data science workloads.
• Exposure to data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Data Engineering team including hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
• Establish engineering standards, best practices, and data pipeline workflows.
• Own design and evolution of analytical data architecture with Snowflake schemas and domain models.
• Ensure Snowflake environment is scalable, secure, and enterprise-aligned.
• Guide architectural decisions for data ingestion, transformations, and consumption patterns.
• Collaborate with cloud and infrastructure teams to configure Azure resources.
• Oversee automated data pipelines ingesting data into Snowflake and ensure data freshness and SLAs.
• Support migration from legacy data warehouses to Snowflake with validation and phased cutovers.
• Maintain analytics, reporting, and regulatory deliverables during migration.
