Job summary

Delta Dental seeks a Senior Data Architect to design scalable, cloud-native data solutions and lead end-to-end data architectures. You will partner with IT leadership and business partners to enable capabilities that scale with growth and support AI/ML initiatives.

Responsibilities include governing data ingestion, storage patterns, and data sharing while ensuring security and regulatory compliance across platforms. Strong collaboration and mentoring are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in modern cloud data architecture or related fields.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Deep understanding of modern data and analytics platforms, including Snowflake, Matillion, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Tableau.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise data solutions: warehousing, lakes, lakehouse, data management, and analytics.
• Extensive experience architecting data platforms using cloud technologies, preferably Azure, with hybrid/multi-cloud exposure.
• Strong ability to translate business requirements into scalable data architectures and communicate with stakeholders.
• Experience with data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of end-to-end data solutions aligned to business goals.
• Define target-state data architectures, data flows, and storage strategies.
• Govern data ingestion, transformation, interoperability, and data sharing across platforms.
• Architect scalable data pipelines, optimizing performance, cost, and reliability.
• Enable AI/ML capabilities through data architectures supporting feature engineering and production use.
• Collaborate with IT, Enterprise Architecture, and business teams on roadmaps and strategies.
• Provide governance oversight for security, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
