Job summary

Delta Dental of California is seeking a Senior Data Architect to design and implement scalable, cloud-native data solutions. You will collaborate with IT leadership and business partners to translate requirements into secure architectures that scale with growth.

Responsibilities include defining target-state architectures, data pipelines, governance, and interoperability across platforms, while enabling AI/ML capabilities and ensuring privacy and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in modern cloud data architecture with a related Bachelor's degree.
• Deep understanding of data platforms, including Snowflake, Matillion, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Tableau.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise data solutions (warehousing, lakes, lakehouse) and analytics.
• Experience architecting end-to-end, scalable data platforms on cloud technologies, preferably Azure.
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable data architectures and communicate clearly.
• Knowledge of data governance, quality, security, privacy, and compliance.
• Experience with vendor/partner collaboration to align with security and data standards.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication to drive cross-functional alignment.
• Experience enabling AI/ML, MCP, and Generative AI use cases with governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of end-to-end data solutions.
• Define target-state data architectures and blueprints for data flows, storage, processing, and consumption.
• Establish and govern standard data ingestion, transformation, and sharing patterns.
• Architect scalable data pipelines and workflows with a balance of performance and cost.
• Design cloud-native data architectures leveraging modern platforms for elasticity and scalability.
• Enable AI/ML capabilities through data architectures for experimentation and deployment.
• Incorporate governance, security, and regulatory compliance by design.
• Design for interoperability across apps, domains, platforms, and external systems.
• Lead evaluation and selection of data technologies in partnership with IT and business stakeholders.
• Collaborate with EA, Infra, App Dev, Data Eng and business teams to define roadmaps.
