Job summary

Delta Dental is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to own end-to-end architecture for complex healthcare payer engagements, focusing on core administration systems and modern platform enablement. You will drive reusable enterprise solution patterns across cloud platforms, core systems, and AI-enabled solutions, bridging traditional processing with AI, microservices, and event-driven architectures.

This role requires leadership in design decisions and collaboration across delivery teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Solution Architecture within Healthcare Payer domains or large-scale software delivery.
• Hands-on architecture with healthcare core administration platforms (e.g., MetaVance) and core systems.
• Ownership of end-to-end solution delivery from discovery to production rollout.
• Experience with cloud-native, event-driven architectures and microservices.
• Experience translating designs into API contracts, event schemas, IaC and integration specs.
• Proven ability in AI/ML, LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, and Agentic AI using Azure AI Services.
• Understanding of enterprise AI governance, security, and Responsible AI frameworks.
• Experience embedded in Agile/DevOps delivery teams.
• Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7, X12, HIPAA).
• Direct experience with IaC (Terraform, Bicep) and CI/CD patterns.
• Vendor/platform selection and modernizations of core systems.
• Certifications in Azure Solutions Architect, Azure AI Engineer or healthcare/AI domains

• Works with product and development teams to implement solutions.
• Provides leadership in design and development execution.
• Leads enterprise initiatives across core payer domains and platform modernization.
• Codifies reusable architecture blueprints and accelerators.
• Interprets standards and participates in Architecture Review Boards.
• Drives cloud-native, API-first, and AI capabilities in delivery workflows.
• Mentors architects, tech leads, and engineering teams on design and best practices.
