Job summary

Crusoe is seeking a Director of Engineering - Cloud Compute to lead Crusoe Cloud's IaaS roadmap and deliver scalable compute solutions for AI workloads. You will mentor engineers, shape architecture decisions, and partner with cross-functional teams to accelerate our carbon-reducing cloud platform.

You bring 7+ years of engineering management and 10+ years in software, deep knowledge of compute products, virtualization tech, and a track record of building fault-tolerant distributed systems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of engineering management experience.
• 10+ years in software engineering.
• Deep understanding of compute products and how customers consume them.
• Knowledge of hypervisors and virtualization technologies (KVM, VMware ESXi, Hyper-V).
• Familiarity with AI/ML workloads and data-center compute needs.
• Experience building scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Strong practices across the full SDLC, coding standards, and CI/CD.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the cloud compute engineering team and define the long-term roadmap.
• Guide architecture decisions, design reviews, and code reviews.
• Scale the team, onboard engineers, and refine processes.
• Stay current with cloud software trends and apply them to Crusoe's offerings.
• Drive recruitment and retention strategies for top talent.
