Job summary

Resideo is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, test, and support backend services for cloud-based and connected-device solutions. You will work with a team to deliver reliable APIs, cloud integrations, and distributed systems, guided by senior engineers.

The role emphasizes growth in cloud-native development, testing, and maintaining software quality, with opportunities to contribute across product, QA, and operations teams, and to influence architecture and standards in a global IoT

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Hands-on programming with C#/.NET and/or Java
• Experience developing or consuming REST APIs and backend services
• Working knowledge of databases and data access patterns
• Experience with Git, code reviews, and modern software practices
• Experience writing automated tests and debugging software issues
• Ability to collaborate within a software engineering team
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services, RESTful APIs, and cloud-based components
• Implement features using C#/.NET and established patterns, testing, and code reviews
• Integrate services with databases, messaging systems, queues, storage, and cloud components
• Write unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews
• Troubleshoot production issues via logs, metrics, and dependencies
• Participate in L3 support and root-cause analysis with senior engineers
• Collaborate with product, QA, operations, firmware, and other teams
• Contribute to design discussions and architectural recommendations
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, security, and developer productivity
• Participate in agile ceremonies and document technical approaches
