Casa Pacifica in Oceanside, CA is seeking a Clinician I for an on-site, part-time role (16 hours/week, Fri and Sat 3:30 pm–Midnight). A Master's degree in a mental health field and CA licensure readiness are required.

This is a full-scope behavioral health position within a residential program. You will conduct initial behavioral health assessments, provide individual and group services, assist with discharge planning, and coordinate care with families and regional providers.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a mental health-related field (Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling) required.
  • Registered/licensure required or waivered as applicable in CA.
  • Credentialing will be completed if offered.

Description
Hours

16 hours per week; Friday and Saturday, 3:30 to Midnight. This is an on-site position and requires in-person attendance to perform the essential functions of the job.

As a Clinician I, you will
  • Conduct initial behavioral health assessments of new clients.
  • Provide individual contacts, group, and milieu psychosocial behavior health services and activities for clients within scope of practice.
  • Act as admission coordinator and/or team lead when designated.
  • Assist clients with discharge planning and conducts care coordination. Works closely with various providers in the region or system to facilitate access to services.
  • Consult and coordinate with family and/or support system regarding client treatment and discharge planning.
  • Conduct crisis intervention and risk assessment. First responder to intervene in crises when needed and indicated at the program in order to ensure the safety of clients and staff.

Casa Pacifica is a transitional residential program that assists people with chronic mental illness and dual diagnosis to move towards recovery and independent living. It is a Full-Service Partnership and offers clients mental health services including psychiatric care, assistance with medication management, individual and group therapy, vocational assistance, case management, and peer support.

The residential component of the program is 6 to 9 months long and graduates can participate in an alumni program that will assist in their transition to a more independent lifestyle.

Education

Master's degree in a mental health-related field such as Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling required

Licensure

Registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) or Waivered Psychologist with the California Board of Psychology required

Credentialing

If you are applying to this position as a Licensed, Registered, Waivered, or Certified professional and are offered the position, you will be required to complete the credentialing process. Additional information will be provided at the post-offer stage.

Additional Qualifications and Skills
  • 2 years of experience working with a mental health population, especially with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring disorders is strongly preferred
  • First Aid/CPR certification is required and must be kept current during employment; can be obtained prior to starting work
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment is essential
  • Ability to work independently, self-directed and highly organized
  • A valid California driver's license in good standing and eligibility to be an approved CRF driver is required to fulfill the essential functions of this position. In addition, proof of insurance is required prior to driving personal vehicles on company business.
  • Ability to pass criminal/background clearance
Summary

Meets the bio-psychosocial needs of clients by providing indicated behavioral health services, case management services and/or crisis intervention, and documents services appropriately. Works with individuals to assist them in accessing appropriate support services and entitlements, medical care, community resources, and family support systems in an effort to facilitate recovery and rehabilitation.

Residential programs are required to be operational 24 hours a day, 365 days per year including all CRF recognized holidays. Given this requirement, employees are expected to work on all CRF recognized holidays depending on staffing needs as scheduled.
