Description

Hours: 40 hours per week. Work schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm or 9:00 am to 5:30 pm; Thursday, 11:30 am to 8:00 pm

As a Clinician I - Assessment, you will:

  • Work closely with various providers in the region or system of care to facilitate access to BPSR services for those identified as the target population to be served.
  • Primary assignment is to conduct initial behavioral health assessments and ongoing assessments of new clients and/or returning clients. Perform collateral interviews as indicated. May provide individual and group psychosocial behavioral health service and activities for clients and/or members of clients’ families.
  • Assist the client in developing client service plan goals, prioritizing areas of need, and steps needed to reach goals established, as well as identified areas of strength. Continually monitor progress towards goals and support client’s efforts toward self-sufficiency.
  • Document all services provided using concurrent and collaborative documentation; maintain all documentation and bills for services according to established policies and procedures in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and respond to Morning Reports and may coordinate 48-hour discharge response from inpatient facilities/crisis residential facilities.

Our Adult Outpatient Programs (Areta Crowell Wellness Recovery Center, Douglas Young Wellness Recovery Center, Heartland Wellness Recovery Center, Jane Westin Center, Maria Sardinas Wellness Recovery Center, and South Bay Guidance Center) provide behavioral health services including psychiatric and clinical assessment, treatment planning, ongoing medication services, individual and group counseling, case management, crisis intervention, mobile outreach, vocational support, and peer support. We deliver fully integrated services to adult clients diagnosed with a serious mental illness, as well as individuals with co-occurring, mental health, and substance use disorders.

All of our outpatient programs also provide full-time walk-in services. Our programs utilize evidence-based practices to assist our clients in reaching their goals and to live the highest quality of life while managing their mental illness.

Education : Master's degree in a mental health-related field, such as Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling required

Licensure : Registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) or Waivered Psychologist with the California Board of Psychology required

Additional Qualifications and Skills

  • 2+ years of direct work experience in behavioral health or community-based social services programs
  • Training and experience working with clients with co-occurring disorder; Motivational Interviewing training preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment is essential for this position
  • This program is housed in a two-story building that does not have an elevator. Ability to navigate stairs is required.
  • Able to pass criminal/background clearance
Summary

Meets the bio-psychosocial needs of clients by providing indicated behavioral health services, casemanagement services, and/or crisis intervention. Bills and documents services appropriately. Works withindividuals to assist them in accessing appropriate support services and entitlements, medical care,community resources, and family support systems in an effort to facilitate recovery and rehabilitation.
