Job summary

Care New England seeks a Unit Secretary to support day-to-day operations across clinical areas. You will retrieve and order data from the hospital computer system, maintain patient charts and records, and process forms for the unit.

You will facilitate information flow among physicians, nursing staff, and others involved in patient care. The role emphasizes organization, clear communication, and attention to patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school graduate; some specialized training preferred.
• Well organized with excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency in English required.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves/orders data from computer system, such as test results and care maps to assist nursing staff and physicians.
• Processes forms and paperwork necessary for unit functions.
• Verifies and updates patient data.
• Maintains manual patient medical records and files.
• Maintains a neat, well supplied workstation.
• Provides routine secretarial support to unit.
• Preserves and protects patient's rights to confidentiality.
• Performs other job-related duties as requested.
