Job summary

UNC Health in Clayton, NC is seeking a Nursing Assistant I to join the 3rd Floor Medical/Surgical Unit. This full-time role supports care delivery, transports patients and equipment, and maintains patient rooms and unit clerical duties.

You will assist with routine exams, monitor vital signs, provide personal care, and document changes in patient condition under supervision. Rotating shifts, onsite, 36 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Fluent in verbal and written English.
• Capable of developing basic computer skills.
• High school diploma or GED is required; CNA I and BLS certifications preferred/required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procure equipment and supplies.
• Review patient care documentation and report significant changes to nurse/physician.
• Provide clerical tasks: organize workload, greet visitors, review orders, transcribe physician orders, and maintain medical records.
