Job summary

UNC Health Care Hillsborough Campus is seeking a Clinical Support Technician II to assist the professional caregiver in patient care, transport, and room setup on the 25-bed surgical unit.

Responsibilities include clerical tasks, data entry, supply management, and patient care activities under supervision; requires English fluency, a high school diploma, and valid NC Nursing Assistant credentials.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in verbal and written English.
• Capable of developing computer skills if not competent.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, as well as procurement of equipment and supplies.
• Critically review patient care documentation making note of any significant changes in the patient's condition and make an immediate report to a registered nurse or physician.
• Provide a variety of clerical tasks including organizing workload, greeting visitors, reviewing orders for logic and clarity, transcribing orders, and maintaining medical records.
• Provide administrative and clerical support including PI audits and data entry
• Provide clinical support including cleaning the work area, stocking supplies, transporting patients and specimens, and orienting new staff and students.
• Provide direct personal care to patients as outlined in plan of care activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation; monitor vital signs.
• Reinforce routine teaching to patients and distribute education materials.
