Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant I for the 3rd Floor Medical/Surgical Unit in Clayton, NC. You will provide routine direct and indirect patient care under supervision, assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and support the care team in a busy inpatient setting.

Requirements include six months of nursing assistant experience preferred, BLS certification, fluent English, and basic computer skills for charting. This is a full-time, onsite position with rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• None required as long as all other position requirements are met.
• Six (6) months of nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Fluent in verbal and written English and able to develop basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, as well as procurement of equipment and supplies during emergency situations.
• Observe, collect, and document patient information obtained while providing care and promptly report significant changes in the patient's condition to a registered nurse or physician.
• Provide direct personal care to patients for activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding and assisting with ambulation.
• Reinforce routine teaching given to patients by the registered nurse or physician and distribute patient education materials.
