Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; higher-level degree may satisfy this requirement.
• Listed as a Nursing Assistant I by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Service
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procurement of equipment and supplies.
• Critically review patient care documentation and report significant changes to a nurse or physician.
• Provide clerical support including organizing workload, greeting visitors, researching information, reviewing and revising orders, answering calls, transcribing orders, and maintaining medical records.
• Provide clinical support such as cleaning work areas, troubleshooting equipment, transporting patients/equipment, and assisting in orientation of new staff.
• Provide direct patient care per plan of care (bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation); measure vitals and document findings.
• Reinforce patient education and distribute educational materials to patients and families
