Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; higher‑level degree may satisfy this requirement.
• Listed as a Nursing Assistant I by the North Carolina DHHS.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the professional caregiver in patient care delivery and transport patients/equipment.
• Set up and maintain patient rooms; perform clerical and transcription tasks.
• Review patient care documentation for changes and report to RN/physician.
• Provide clinical support: transport supplies, assist with orientation of staff/students.
• Provide direct personal care as outlined in the plan of care and document vitals.
• Reinforce patient teaching and distribute education materials.
