Job summary

UNC Health Care in Chapel Hill seeks a Clinical Support Tech I (Per Diem) for the Maternity Care Center. The dual Nursing Assistant I and Health Unit Coordinator role supports patient care, clerical duties, and unit operations.

Ideal candidates are certified CNAs with BLS, fluent in English, and available for day and night rotating shifts including weekends and holidays. Per diem hours and onsite work at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant per NC requirements.
• Must be listed in Nurse Aide I Registry and have BLS certification.
• Fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and health care providers with routine exams and procedures and help obtain equipment and supplies.
• Review patient care documentation for significant changes and promptly report to RN or physician.
• Perform clerical tasks: greet visitors, manage workload, transcribe orders, and maintain medical records.
• Provide clinical support: clean work area, troubleshoot basic software/hardware, transport patients and supplies.
• Assist with personal patient care per plan of care activities and document vitals and measurements.
• Reinforce patient education and distribute health materials as requested.
