Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Per Diem Medical Assistant for day shifts in Boston, MA. You will perform medical assisting duties, manage check-in, scheduling, and phlebotomy, and support clinical staff across imaging and lab areas.

The role requires basic computer skills, 0-1 year of related experience, and appropriate MA/EMT/CNA/LNA certification. Per diem responsibilities offer flexibility within a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Ability to navigate basic web-based applications.
• MA/EMT/CNA/LNA certificate or diploma or 5 months direct patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical assisting duties including vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and assisting procedures.
• Maintain clean, stocked patient care areas and escort patients to radiology or lab.
• Review medication lists in EMR under supervision.
• Perform point of care testing and ensure QC.
• Use EMR to queue prescription renewals and document tasks.
• Schedule diagnostic and lab tests and verify insurance.
• Prepare schedules, charts, and medical correspondence.
• Check-in patients, collect copayments and verify information.
• Record appointment disposition in system.
• Monitor waiting areas and facilitate flow and communication.
