Job summary

BETH ISRAEL LAHEY HEALTH's Lahey Clinic in Peabody, MA, is hiring a Per Diem Medical Assistant. Under supervision of licensed providers, the MA delivers direct patient care, assists with procedures, and supports care coordination to keep ambulatory clinics running smoothly.

Responsibilities include greeting and preparing patients, taking vitals, assisting with EKGs and specimen collection, maintaining exam rooms, documenting in EMR, and coordinating scheduling and referrals as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Certification as Medical Assistant (CMA), EMT, CNA, or LNA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet, room, and prepare patients; take and document vital signs.
• Support clinical procedures such as EKGs and specimen collection.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and accurate EMR documentation.
• Assist with scheduling, check-in, referrals, and patient instructions as needed.
• Communicate with providers, patients, and team about delays or follow-ups.
