Job summary

DESC is a Seattle-based social services provider focused on homelessness and behavioral health. The Clinical Support Specialist collaborates with the CSS Supervisor, housing teams, and outside providers to deliver and coordinate clinical services for tenants.

Responsibilities include developing ISP, coordinating services, maintaining documentation, and supporting tenants toward housing stability while applying trauma-informed approaches across care plans.

Qualifications

  • AAC license or ability to obtain soon after hire.
  • Clinical experience with homeless adults affected by mental illness and substance use.
  • Knowledge of local homeless, mental health, and chemical dependency services.
  • Ability to communicate and work with diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work with clients displaying challenging behavior.

Responsibilities

  • Engage tenants with culturally relevant strategies to build trust.
  • Develop and update Integrated Service Plans in collaboration with tenants and staff.
  • Coordinate case management elements with DESC and external providers.
  • Support tenants in maintaining safe living conditions and lease compliance.
  • Directly provide case management services where needed.
  • Document interactions per agency guidelines and logs.
  • Use trauma‑informed methods to intervene in crises.
  • Provide education and support to tenants for lease success.
  • Organize group activities to develop daily living skills.
