Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a patient-care teammate to assist in direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision. Responsibilities include basic daily living assistance, vital signs, glucose monitoring, and transport within the facility.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and BLS/HeartSaver First Aid within 30 days. Prior patient-care experience is preferred. This is a non-exempt, part-time role with varied shifts and a focus on family-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct patient care as directed by RN, to promote comfort.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and bed mobility.
• Safely transport patients to tests and procedures per Safe Patient Handling.
• Perform routine phlebotomy and glucose testing as assigned.
• Record vital signs and intake/output per policy.
• Provide respiratory support and oxygen administration setup.
• Assist with examinations, procedures, and basic rehab activities.
• Maintain clean, safe unit environment and report equipment issues.
