WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown seeks a patient care assistant to support registered nurses by delivering direct and indirect care and helping with daily living activities.

You will assist with vital signs, transportation, basic tests, specimen handling, and communicate patient needs to the nursing team, while maintaining a safe, clean environment.

This part-time role is 20 hours weekly, Day shift, in Morgantown, WV, with opportunities to grow within WVU Health System.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support or HeartSaver First Aid within 30 days of hire date.
• Preferred: Prior patient care experience.

Responsabilités

• Assist direct patient care with basic physical care as directed by RN.
• Assist with activities of daily living and bed making.
• Transport patients and specimens; follow Safe Patient Handling policies.
• Perform routine tests like glucose, urine/stool when allowed; maintain logs.
• Obtain vital signs and document per policy.
• Provide respiratory support and use oxygen equipment as needed.
• Notify RN of changes in patient condition and assist with examinations and procedures.
• Assist with rehab activities and nutrition communication.
• Maintain clean, safe environment to prevent infections.
