A leading organization is seeking a Clinical Specialist to provide medical support to adults with developmental disabilities. The role involves assisting medical staff, scheduling appointments, and ensuring patient care. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills and relevant certifications.
The Clinical Specialist is an experienced medical support professional with a background working with adults with developmental disabilities or in a long-term care facility. In this role, you will assist physicians, nurses, and patients with medical needs before, during, and after appointments for participants in our Residential program. Responsibilities include appointment scheduling, lab work and pharmacy processing, direct patient support, preparing paperwork, and assisting medical staff during appointments. The Clinical Specialist should be detail-oriented, highly organized, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a team.
Education/Training
High school diploma or GED. Certification such as CNA, Medical Assistant from an accredited program, or NADSP Certification is preferred.
Experience
Experience providing hands-on care to adults with developmental disabilities or in a Long-term Care facility is required. Experience in a physician practice or clinic setting and familiarity with Electronic Health Records is preferred. Basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance is also preferred.

Proficiency in operating computers, EHR systems, vehicles, lifts, and other medical equipment is required. Responsibilities include scheduling clinics, preparing paperwork, managing inventory, assisting with appointments, and maintaining cleanliness and confidentiality.
