Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
• MA Certification (required within 90 days of hire)
• Must successfully complete EPIC scheduling training/tests
• HS Diploma/GED required
• Completion of a Penn Medicine Approved MA program or higher level equivalent
• Or 18+ months experience as an MA may be considered in lieu of MA program completion
• Or 1+ year experience as a Clinical Support Representative may be considered in lieu of MA program completion

Responsibilities

• Promptly rooms patients and prepares chart in EMR, reviewing medical history and notes for provider review.
• Documents vital signs, tests and medication refills in EMR.
• Assists patients with exam preparation, assist in procedures and observations of patient condition.
• Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection as needed and records results in EMR.
• Conducts EKGs and outpatient screening tests as ordered by MD.
• Maintains sterile field during minor procedures and assists with instrumentation.
• Responds to emergencies and ensures safe environment for patients.
• Coordinates with specialists, labs, home care and other services for patient care.
