Job summary

Spine Search in Freehold, NJ is seeking a versatile Medical Assistant / Clinical Scribe to support a spine and orthopedic team. You will handle front-end patient intake, prepare examinations and imaging, and document exams in real time.

This role also involves lab duties including PRP processing, venipuncture, and ensuring HIPAA compliance, infection control, and accurate coding with ICD-10/CPT. On-site, with periodic travel to Monroe, NJ.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; MA program graduate
• CMA/RMA certification strongly preferred
• Proficient communication and teamwork; basic computer skills (Office)

Responsibilities

• Greet and room patients; document intake in eClinicalWorks (CCH, HPI, PMH, allergies, ROS, vitals, meds)
• Prepare patients for exams, X-rays, tests, and procedures (including glucose readings)
• Perform venipuncture and operate centrifuge for PRP samples
• In-room scribing during exams; document findings, plans, and codes in real time
• Enter orders and prescriptions; link ICD-10 and CPT codes; assist with lab work
• Maintain infection control and room cleanliness; manage supplies and equipment
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and complete payroll/time tracking/training requirements
