Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Clinical Informatics Specialist (CIS) or Medical Scribe to support primary care providers with real-time documentation and coding expertise. You will observe in exam rooms, document encounters, and help close care gaps within our value-based care model.

Ideal candidates have medical terminology knowledge, clinical exposure, and strong typing skills. This is a full-time, in-person role with comprehensive benefits in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications.
• Prior clinical experience or shadowing preferred.
• Scribe or transcription experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Documenting patient encounters with structured notes (HPI, assessment, plan, exam).
• Assigning CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Preparing After Visit Summaries and supporting clinical documentation improvement.
• Collaborating with providers to ensure accurate documentation.
• Administrative support for the care team, including orders and referrals.
