Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Scribe to support primary care providers with real-time clinical documentation. You will observe visits, document encounters, and help with CPT/ICD-10 coding.

This role emphasizes value-based care documentation and collaboration with the care team. The ideal candidate has medical terminology knowledge, strong listening and communication skills, and may have prior scribe or transcription experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications.
• Prior clinical experience (shadowing/volunteering) preferred.
• Scribe or transcription experience preferred but not required.
• Advanced listening and communication skills required.
• Ability to type 70+ words per minute is strongly preferred.
• US work authorization is required.

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters in real time with structured notes including HPI, assessment, plan and exam.
• Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes and prepare After Visit Summaries.
• Support daily huddles and clinical documentation reviews.
• Provide administrative support to the care team and provider as needed.
• Perform other duties related to clinical documentation as assigned.
