Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Scribe to support primary care providers with real-time documentation, coding, and care coordination. You will observe visits, document encounters, and help close care gaps while learning value-based medicine in a fast-paced clinic.

The role emphasizes accuracy, timely notes, and collaboration with the provider team; 40 hours per week, in-person clinic hours, with a strong commitment of 1 year minimum and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications, either from a pre-medical degree or prior clinical experience [required]
• Prior clinical experience, including shadowing and/or volunteering [strongly preferred]
• Prior scribe or transcription experience [preferred but not required]

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters in a structured note with HPI, assessment, plan, and exam
• Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes
• Prepare After Visit Summaries
• Support care team with documentation and opportunities for improvement
