Job summary

The Cataract & Laser Institute is seeking a Scribe to assist physicians by documenting in the patient EHR during exams and to help the clinical team with testing, scheduling, and room preparation. Training is provided for those new to the role.

The position emphasizes accurate data entry, patient flow coordination, and a professional patient experience in a fast-paced ophthalmology clinic in Indiana. Growth opportunities exist through certification programs and on-the-job learning.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous optometry experience preferred.
• Strong keyboarding and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Enter data into EHR during exams as dictated.
• Assist optometrists with procedures and patient flow.
• Escort patients and coordinate scheduling.
• Maintain clean exam rooms and inventory of medications and supplies.
• Support leadership with additional duties as needed.
• Occasional travel to other offices may be required.
