Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System at the Main Campus in Cleveland seeks a Shared Laboratory Resource Specialist I to support the Clinical Research Unit. The role is bench-based and focuses on pre-analytical activities for clinical trials, operating under SOPs, and maintaining equipment.

You will join a team that collaborates with study teams across specialties, with day/evening/night/weekend shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in a relevant scientific field or two years of related experience.
Certification may be required per department or core protocol within one year of hire.
Critical thinking, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

Read and follow experimental protocols.
Work with senior mentor for questions and learning requirements.
Calculate, compile, and communicate data to Core leadership or internal customers.
Perform quality assurance on all assigned activities per procedures or SOPs.
Intake functions for the laboratory such as logging samples and service requests.
Record work accurately and completely.
Maintain laboratory inventories; order materials as necessary.
Prepare and operate equipment for experiments and measurements.
Assist in minor equipment repairs per guidelines.
Clean and maintain equipment per protocols.
Support execution of specialized services.
Abide by all rules and regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
