Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is seeking a professional to coordinate daily operations of clinical research studies in the Memory Clinic and GIA. Responsibilities include enrollment, data management, and supporting regulatory compliance.

The role involves training staff and assisting the principal investigator with administrative tasks, reporting, and maintaining study supplies. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Healthcare related training with current licensure/certification in their field.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with a major in the area of research being conducted.
  • Certification: Certified Clinical Research Professional or Certified Clinical Research Coordinator or eligibility to obtain within two years from hire date.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with research subject enrollment by completing all necessary documents and data entry.
  • Coordinate and schedule research subjects visits.
  • Ensure research data is securely stored and protected; comply with data privacy regulations.
  • Train and oversee part-time staff involved with research projects.
  • Assist PI with reports, data collection, and maintenance of supplies.

Job description

Position Description

Coordinates daily operations of clinical research studies in assigned department(s). This includes but is not limited to overall clinic conduct, marketing, and data management of all clinical research activities in assigned department(s). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include training new employees; assisting with planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and dangerous bodily fluids. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Approximately 5-15% travel (often long-distance) is required.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Research program enrollment: Assist with research subject enrollment by completing all necessary documents, research consent documentation and ensure accurate data entry of patient information into research files/database.
  • Coordinates and schedules research subjects visits.
  • Ensures that research data is securely stored and protected from unauthorized access, loss, or corruption. Also ensure compliance with TTUHSC and other relevant regulations and ethical guidelines governing data management, research and privacy.
  • Training and oversight of part time staff involved with research projects.
  • Assists PI with various administrative tasks, such as preparing reports, collection of research data and maintaining research supplies and other duties and responsibilities as needed to accomplish the goals and mission of the research project and institute.
Occasional Duties
  • Other tasks/duties as assigned to accomplish the goals/mission of the Memory Clinic and the GIA.
Required Qualifications

Healthcare related training with current licensure/certification in their field OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with a major in the area of research being conducted. Certification: Certified Clinical Research Professional as defined by The Society of Clinical Research Associates or Certified Clinical Research Coordinator as defined by the Association of Clinical Research Professionals OR Ability to obtain certification as a Clinical Research Professional/Coordinator within two years from date of hire or upon eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with working with institutional review boards.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
