Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock is seeking a Clinical Informatics Coord to support ambulatory clinic EMR and data workflows, collaborating with clinicians and IT to optimize Epic-based workflows.

The role includes developing end-user trainings, creating best practice workflows, and analyzing data to improve documentation quality and patient outcomes, with emphasis on collaboration and patient safety.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree plus 4 years of experience in medical/electronic medical records or equivalent.
  • Experience with EMR systems, specifically Epic.
  • Experience in healthcare environments.
  • Knowledge of revenue cycle software.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to understand their needs and opportunities to improve efficiencies within the EMR.
  • Develop plans/trainings for end users utilizing data analytics.
  • Partner with the EMR team to create best practice workflows for staff.
  • Act as a liaison between clinical staff, leadership, and the EMR team.
  • Review patient data to make medical workflows safer and more efficient.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems reported by clinical team members.
  • Analyze clinical and operational data to improve documentation quality and patient outcomes.

Visa Information

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.

Position Description

Performs clinical applications support duties with the clinicians and staff providing patient care in the ambulatory clinic setting.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to understand their needs and opportunities to improve efficiencies within the EMR

Required Qualifications

Undergraduate degree and 4 years of experience in medical/electronic medical records; or a combination of education and experience to equal eight (8) years.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with EMR systems, specifically Epic systems.
  • Experience in Healthcare.
  • Knowledge with revenue cycle software.
  • knowledge various clinical and professional software.
