Job summary

CSL is seeking a healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis, interview donors, review medical histories, and provide limited emergency medical care under supervision. The role includes assessing test results and referring donors for follow-up when needed.

You will work with the Center Medical Director, escalate critical situations, and ensure SOPs are followed while maintaining donor safety and quality standards in a regulated plasma collection environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic program.
  • Foreign medical graduates must be licensed as physician or EMS-certified.
  • For NY: valid RN/MD/DO licensure or reciprocal state certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year health-care experience.
  • Experience in plasma/whole-blood collection or regulated enviro is preferred.
  • Ability to assess heart, lung sounds, and signs of drug use.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
  • Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.
  • Interview donors and review medical histories for eligibility.
  • In conjunction with Center Medical Director, respond to medical questions about donor suitability.
  • Review test results and assess ongoing donor suitability; note any adverse symptoms.
  • Counsel donors on reactive tests and refer for follow-up as needed.
  • Follow SOPs and escalate critical cases to Center Physician or local providers.
