Job summary

CSL is seeking a healthcare professional to oversee donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and to administer immunizations. The role includes emergency medical care for donors and staff, conducting confidential donor interviews, and collaborating with the Center Medical Director on medically related questions.

Qualifications

• One year of healthcare experience or clinical experience from a vocational/nursing program.
• Active state licensure or medical school certification required.
• Experience in plasma or blood collection center preferred.
• Ability to perform physical assessments (heart, lungs, signs of drug use).
• Ability to educate donors, staff and community about plasma donation benefits.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Administer approved immunizations and provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.
• Conduct confidential donor interviews to assess eligibility for plasma donation.
• Respond to medically related questions with Center Medical Director/Physician.
• Review donor screening results to determine initial and continuing suitability.
• Notify and counsel donors about reactive test results and refer for follow-up.
• Explain informed consent and obtain signatures from donors.
• Maintain medical emergency response per SOPs and ensure kits are in-date.
• Record donor data accurately in the electronic system.
• Promote safety and ensure compliance with HSE/OSHA policies.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
