Job summary

CSL is seeking a health care professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis and to provide limited emergency medical care for donors and staff. You will interview donors, review medical histories, and determine donor eligibility in collaboration with the Center Medical Director.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an emergency medical technician
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures under general supervision.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donation suitability.
• Collaborate with Center Medical Director to respond to medically related questions.
• Review test results to determine continued donor suitability and assess symptoms.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer for follow-up as needed.
• Follow SOPs and escalate critical medical situations to the Center Physician or local medical providers.
