Job summary

SmithRx is seeking a Plan Operations Pharmacist to support clinical decisions, implement pharmacologic programs, and advise clients during onboarding. You will collaborate with operations, product, and client services to optimize drug spend, formulary design, and clinical program value for new and existing clients.

The role requires an Advanced Degree in Pharmacy (PharmD or RPh), a current license, and at least 3 years as a licensed pharmacist with client-facing experience.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist license in the state of primary residence.
• 3+ years of experience as a licensed pharmacist.
• 2+ years in healthcare benefits or client-facing roles is preferred.
• Executive-level communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with clients and Implementation Managers to provide clinical expertise on drug spend and formulary compliance.
• Serve as a clinical subject matter expert to support Plan Operations activities.
• Acts as a clinical liaison between Plan Operations and other SmithRx teams.
• Explains formulary and program value propositions to clients and internal teams.
• Communicates formulary changes and program updates to internal and external partners.
• Recommends clinical programs for new clients to achieve cost savings.
• Stays current with market trends and provides clinical market intelligence.
• Communicates drug information to clients and addresses plan-specific inquiries.
• Creates and updates clinical marketing materials to support go-live activities.
