Job summary

SmithRx is seeking a Plan Operation Pharmacist to support clinical pharmacy services for new client implementations and ongoing operations. You will provide expert guidance on formulary design, drug spend, and program updates while partnering with client leadership and internal teams.

Ideal candidates hold a PharmD or equivalent, a valid pharmacist license, and 3+ years of practice with healthcare benefits.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in pharmacy and licensed in your state.
• 3+ years as a licensed pharmacist.
• 2+ years healthcare benefits or plan designs experience.
• 2+ years client-facing experience.
• Executive-level communication and presentations.
• Strong customer-focused mindset.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical expertise on drug spend and formulary strategies.
• Serve as clinical SME for Plan Operations.
• Act as liaison between Plan Operations and internal teams.
• Explain formulary value to clients and teams.
• Support formulary changes and program updates.
• Recommend clinical programs to reduce costs.
• Monitor market trends and share intelligence.
• Communicate drug information to clients and respond to queries.
• Create/update clinical marketing materials for go-live.
• Analyze data and interpret drug benefit designs.
• Clarify analytical and reporting needs to support teams.
